Last year I tried to make an icosahedron out of some plywood and wood glue. I didn't get the angle exactly right to build it as a solid form like I wanted, but I decided to just build it anyways. I kinda like the way it turned out. In a couple of weeks I think I'm going to try to use this as a frame to build an icosahedron out of clay. Hopefully the clay will be flexible enough to fill in the gaps. In the meantime Francis is going to model behind it : )
Rolling out some tiles
I rolled out a slab last week to make some test tiles. Think I might do some drawings of bugs on these, or maybe a turtle. Great big thank you goes to Celia for giving me some green tinted clay to mix in. I can't wait to see what happens after it's fired.
